Filmy Network ("we", "us", "our") operates an independent Indian cinema journalism, trade tracking, and cinephile community portal. We strictly adhere to the principle of data minimization: we only collect the minimum personal data necessary to provide you with a secure, personalized, and high-performance movie entertainment experience.

We do not sell, broker, or rent your personal information to commercial data brokers, advertising networks, or predatory third parties.

Depending on how you interact with Filmy Network, we may collect and process the following categories of data:

• Account & Identity Data: When you register an account, we collect your chosen username, email address, registration timestamp, and cryptographically salted password hash. We never store raw, plain-text passwords.
• Cinephile Engagement & Community Activity: To provide account-specific personalization, we store your movie ratings (1.0 to 10.0 scale), watchlist entries, articles and movies you have liked (wp_fn_user_likes), notification records (wp_fn_notifications), and any public editorial comments you submit.
• Communication & Form Inquiries: When you contact us through our Newsroom Desk or Advertise forms, we collect your name, email address, organization name (if provided), message topic, and inquiry contents to route and fulfill your request.
• Technical & Diagnostic Logs: Standard HTTP server logs record your IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, requested URL path, and timestamp. This data is exclusively utilized for server health, cyber defense, and bot mitigation.

Filmy Network utilizes your data strictly for legitimate platform purposes:

• Authenticating your session and maintaining account security.
• Calculating aggregated public community star ratings and sentiment indicators for films.
• Synchronizing your private watchlist and content likes across your devices.
• Delivering in-app notifications regarding replies, editorial updates, and account activity.
• Responding promptly to editorial tips, press inquiries, corrections, and commercial partnerships.
• Preventing automated spam, brute-force attacks, and malicious exploits.

To protect our contact and advertising communication channels against automated bot flooding, we employ transient rate limiting. When a contact form is submitted, a sanitized cryptographic hash of your client IP is temporarily cached in the WordPress transient cache for exactly 10 minutes.

These transient records are ephemeral, not linked to individual profiles, and automatically purged by our system upon expiry without creating persistent database records.

Filmy Network uses minimal cookies necessary for website operation and user preference retention:

• Authentication Cookies: Standard WordPress session cookies verify your logged-in status and authenticate AJAX requests for likes, ratings, and notifications.
• Interface Preferences: Local storage or lightweight session cookies remember your UI preferences, such as active tab views and filter toggles.

You can manage, restrict, or delete cookies at any time through your web browser preferences; however, disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to community features.

Our editorial coverage includes embedded official movie trailers and promotional teasers hosted on third-party video platforms (such as YouTube). Playing an embedded video connects directly to that third-party provider's servers, which may collect your IP address and set their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

We do not share your Filmy Network user credentials or community activity with these external media platforms.

We maintain rigorous engineering safeguards to protect user data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

• Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/SSL) encryption for all client-to-server data transmission.
• Cryptographic nonce verification on all write operations and form submissions.
• Parameterized SQL queries (prepared statements) to prevent injection vulnerabilities.
• Strict role-based access control restricting editorial and administrative database functions.

You retain full control over your personal data on Filmy Network:

• Access & Export: You may view your complete rating history, likes, and watchlist directly via your Account Dashboard at any time.
• Rectification: You can edit or delete your star ratings, watchlist items, or profile information whenever you wish.
• Account Deletion & Data Erasure: You may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated user records by contacting our Data Protection Officer.

Filmy Network is an entertainment and trade media service intended for general audiences aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that personal data of a child has been collected without parental consent, we will promptly delete that data.
